EXPEDITIE AARDVACHT
A quest for Shakespeare’s island
A place where shells speak, trees whisper, rivers sing and every breath of wind tells a story.
'Expedition Aardvacht' is a musical and theatrical journey to Shakespeare's magical island from his play 'The Tempest'. An island, where man and nature still live together as one, being part of an enchanted ecosystem; something that nowadays only exists in our imagination. For if in Shakespeare's time, humans were still enchanted by the magic of nature, nowadays the enchantment of progress holds us in its grip,
and our connection with it seems to be broken.
With wondrous images and pop songs inspired by Shakespeare's original texts,
four performers give nature a voice again.
“The harmonies give me goosebumps time and again.” (De Theaterkrant)
“This might be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.” (Audience reaction)
“Like I was part of a magical ritual. I get it!” (Audience reaction)
